FIELD magazine is now on summer hiatus. We will respond to submissions now in the pipeline as soon as possible, and then will begin receiving poems again in August.
The twentieth annual FIELD Poetry Prize competition is open to all poets, whether or not they have previously published a book. Unpublished poetry manuscripts between 50 and 80 pages in length will be considered. All manuscripts will be read by the editors of the Press, David Young and David Walker. Oberlin College Press publishes the winning manuscript in the FIELD Poetry Series and awards the winning author $1,000 plus standard royalties.
Please include a title page with your name, address, phone, and email address. See full guidelines at our website.
Manuscripts may be submitted during May 2016. The contest reading fee includes one year’s subscription to FIELD. The prize winner will be announced this summer on our website.
Book-length manuscripts of poetry in translation will be considered year-round for the FIELD Translation Series. Please send sample poems and a letter of inquiry describing the work and indicating that you have the author's permission, where appropriate, to seek publication for your translation.
(Original book manuscripts are considered for the FIELD Poetry Series only by invitation, or through entering the annual FIELD Poetry Prize competition during the month of May.)
